Dah Yung Steel (M) Sdn Bhd was incorporated in 1964 under the name of Thoong Hin Steel Co. Ltd. In 1965, the company changed its name to Dah Yung Steel Manufactory Co. (Malaya) Ltd and subsequently in 1979, its name was changed to Dah Yung Steel (M) Sdn Bhd.

The business of Dah Yung Steel (M) is mainly in the manufacturing and sale of steel products. The Company began its operation in 1965 when an electric Arc Furnace was installed to produce steel ingots and steel castings. In 1967, a rolling mill was set up for the production of steel bars.

The Aims of the Company

The fast growing economies within Asia𠏋 region had encouraged us to undergo massive expansion in order to retain it𠏋 competitiveness among other steel manufacturers. Concentrating in products quality and production yield rate are two major aims of the Company. The Company had succeeded in obtaining SIRIM approval for its two major products i.e. mild steel round bar and high tensile deformed bar. The SIRIM approval has positioned the company in a firm ground among the medium and small steel mills.

The focus on Total Quality Management did not stop with product alone, the Company𠏋 aggressive re-engineering in manufacturing and production with specific focus on increasing productivity through improved process, retraining of staff, cutting downtime and wastage saw production yield rate increasing to almost 100% compared to the past two years.

The Company is gearing towards expansion and has decided to acquire more industrial land to construct a technologically advanced rolling mill plant to cater for the core sector of iron and steel market in the next decade, this will strengthen the company𠏋 financial standing with strong emphasis on industrial engineering.
